To make your own breath freshener, do the following...
buy some sage- fresh, place in a metal bowl or pot,
pour a cup or two of boiling water on top.
Leave it alone for 10 to 15 mins. and then pour the water into a
clean container. Now, whenever Fifi or Fido needs some
water, give them some sage water. Or if you buy dry food,
just add a little sage water to their dry food.

Sage has the ability to knockout the bad bacteria that's causing the foul odors.
And one more tip: Sage is also rumored to help preserve and build memory.
A smarter dog is always good, so make sure they really drink the sage
water now.
