Protecting Your Plants!
Hey ladies and gentlemen, does your cat find your plants
irresistible? Meaning they love jabbing at the leaves, or
digging in the dirt?
Well, if that's the case, you may want to use a citrus
Rx to stop them.
That's right- Cayenne pepper was a go-to remedy to stop
frisky felines in the past, but too many cat lover thought
the red pepper was a little too harsh.
So, they looked and tested some other non-harmful products
and they've came up with Lemon juice.
Yes, the smell of citrus is a big turn of for a lot cats, and to
discourage them- just saturate a cotton ball with lemon
juice (fresh or concentrated) and rub it around the rim of the planters.
(you can also leave the cotton balls inside the planters as well.)
Doing this overwhelms your kittys' keen sense of smell, leaving them
reeling and hiding for cover.
Another tip: rub the planter a few days later as the scent of the lemon juice
may wear off. This should stop the digging and leaf pulling in a few days.
Good Luck!
