Keeping Kitty Away From...

Keeping Kitty Away From Your Herbs!

Cats can certainly get into things, a lot of things-

and one of those things is your plants, especially potted
herb plants.

If this is happening in your household and you want a
natural solution to deter him (or her) just head to
the supermarket or drugstore and pick up some
Vick's Vapor Rub.

Yes, the same stuff Mom or Grandma used to rub on
your chest to help alleviate and end a cold.
Rub some on the sides of the pots.
The strong menthol smell is overwhelming to
your cat's nose and she or he will leave the potted  plants alone.

And lastly, you may have to smear on a little more
in a week or two as the vapor rub will certainly wear off
and feel free to use vapor rub on some other things you
don't want your cat to get into.
Or use fresh peels from lemons and

oranges or black pepper.

Good Luck!

One last request, if you would take a look at our new venture-
printing helpful dog and cat tips on recycled bags, we'd certainly
appreciate it.
A small percentage goes to our pet project-
(no pun intended) to help animal shelters buy
dog and cat food...

Thank You

Help For A Dry Coat!

Help For That Dry, Brittle Coat!

Summer isn't even here yet, but some of you may be experiencing

this with your pet, what is it?
A dry coat.

High temperatures and the UV rays from the Sun can certainly

take its toll and damage his or her fur and if this case in your
household-use the following natural remedy to turn things around.

The natural Remedy:
Mix 1 cup of water, 1 Tbs. of almond oil and 1 tsp. of

lemon juice in a spray bottle and after a bath or
grooming session, spritz this natural solution all over his or her
coat.

Use a brush or comb (wide-tooth ) to distribute the
almond oil and lemon juice combo all over his (or her) body.

Why is this effective?
Almond oil contains omega-6 and omega-9-
fatty acids that nourish and strengthen the fur
and the lemon juice--helps removes the dirt, oil and
shampoo buildup  to restore shine to his or her coat in no time.

Good Luck!

One last thing-
We're starting a new venture- the venture: Dog and cat tips
on reusable bags.
Why?
To help raise money for one of our pet projects (pardon the pun)
the project: Buy dog and cat food for the number of pets who
are abandoned, either at shelters or the side of the highway.
And if you purchase one of these bags, you'll not only receive
a great tip that'll help you become a better pet owner,

you'll also be saving a pet's life, (hopefully a lot of pets).
That;s it-
Thank You-
James Gibson,
Co-owner and co-writer of this blog.

Our first venture:
See down below.

This bag contains a tip that should concern
all people and pet owners.
The tip: How to keep your pets safe from mosquito
bites this Summer.
That's right, if you only think the Zika virus
is something that affects people, you're wrong,

it also affects pets.
The tip recommends using a natural
product (that can be found at any health-food store
or drugstore, and something even better- it won't
harm your dog or cat in any way.

To take a look at (and hopefully
purchase this product) head to Zazzle.com/Holistically
and look for the bag to your right.
(Zazzle allows you change the color of the bag if it's not
to your liking.)
Once there (at our store) look around,
we also have some other items that may interest you.

Thanks again.

Car Wax For Fido!

                                  Wax For Dog Tags!

Don't let the title fool you, the wax we're talking about is for the dog tags,

not the dog.
If your dog is an "outside" dog,  there are a number of things you have to worry
about --things like...skunks, raccoons, mosquitoes, fleas, ticks
and
rusty dog tags.

Yes, rusty I,D,.tags.
To stop running out and buying new tags every two months,
put an end to the rusting with car wax

Apply car wax to a clean cloth and  wax both sides
of the I.D. tags,  let  dry and then attach them to your dog's
collar.

The car wax protects the metal tags from the corrosive effects
of moisture and it allows you to save more money.

Good Luck!
