Natural Rx To Get Rid Of Fleas!

Curing Flea With A Cupboard Favorite!
Is your dog suffering from a flea infestation? Is your house overrun with
fleas?
Well, before you run out and get flea sprays and flea collars, hold on.

Flea sprays and collars may get the job done, but they may also
put your family's and your pet's health at risk.
Why? These products are made with chemicals that may kill fleas,
but they can also cause respiratory problems, skin irritation,
red eyes,  and other problems.

So, what do you do? Head to your cupboard and grab the salt.
That's right- The stuff you're Dr. keeps warning you about is a natural
solution to getting rid of fleas.

The Salt Cure:
Get a big pail, pour in about a gallon of water, add 1/2 cup of salt,
and stir well. Use this mixture to wash down your doghouse, the dog,
the floor where the pet bowls sit and the pet bowls.
The salt dehydrates and kills both the fleas and their larvae, leaving
his (or her) living space flea-free and giving him (or her) the relief to
sleep through the night.
And one more tip: Make sure your dog doesn't have any open sores
or the salt will sting.

That's it- An all-natural alternative to flea sprays and flea collars.

Good Luck!

                 Lifting Pet Hair From Furniture!
There are many joys with owning a pet, cleaning up all of that

for cleaning up excess hair.

(must be clean pantyhose) stick your hand in one leg,
then run your hand over the furniture.

The tightly woven nylon fibers will easily pick up the stray hairs.
And if you want to clean up the hair under the bed or couch, slip

a pair of pantyhose over the end of a broomstick, place a rubber
band on the end to secure it and slide it around for a minute or two.

That's It- A simple solution for an unending problem.

Protecting Shoes From Dogs!

Natural Rx To Keep Shoes Safe!
Has your dog been using your expensive shoes as "chew toys?"
It's happening for a number of reasons: boredom, they're attracted
to the scent or anxiety.

If you want to put an end to it-try this simple tip...
Place a line of cayenne or black pepper right along
the spo twhere you store your shoes. If they're in the closet,
place a line of cayenne pepper right in front of the closet.
The reason for the pepper? Your dog will head to closet,
start sniffing and get a whiff of black or cayenne pepper.

If he or she does it a few times, they'll get the sneeze attacks,
take the hint and look for something else to chew on.

You may have to change the pepper after a day or two, it does
lose its effectiveness.

That's it- a simple solution for a serious and sometimes
expensive doggy habit.

Milk Baths For Your Dog!

                               A Secret For Softer Fur!
Are you spending lots of money on special lotions, potions and vitamins
for your dog(s)?
Do these lotions, potions and vitamins promise to make your dog's coat
silky smooth? Well, if the lotions, potions and vitamins work and
you're satified, go ahead and continue to buy them, but if they're
not working, try something that your grandma or mom may have
bought yrs. ago.

That something: Powdered Milk!
Yes, that old standby that was kept in the cupboard, can now help
your dog get a silky, smooth coat.
Why powdered milk?
The enzymes in milk, dissolves the oils and dirt in your dog's coat,
while neutralizing the unpleasant odors. Plus, the powder's
lactic acid softens their fur and makes it silky-smooth to boot.

So, next time you purchase groceries, pick up a box or two
of powdered milk, and add a cup or two to his bath, put
your dog in, massage the milk-treated water into his fur,
and to finish up- just use some shampoo as you normally would.
Important tip: The powdered milk of yesterday was a whole lot cheaper,
if you do plan on buying some-be prepared to spend some money.
Or buy a cheaper generic brand.

That's it- A simple solution to helping your dog look their silkiest,
smoothest and sexiest best.

Easy Rx For bathing A Cat!

                          Cat Baths Made Easy!
Bathing a cat is one of those things you really want to avoid, like
cleaning the gutters or balancing a checkbook or doing taxes.
Unfortunately, it has to be done.

Here's a trick from a Veternarian that might make it easier.
The trick:
Put an old towel on the bottom of the tub, add some water,
then set Kitty down on the towel. Bathing the cat this way,
prevents his or her paws from touching the cold slippery surface
of the tub and they'll be able to dig into the towel and hopefully,
release some stress and tension. And with his or her paws occupied,
you can safely and easily get the job done.

Hey, this sounds good for dogs as well, hope it helps!

Senior citizens who care for a pet benefit greatly-health-wise.
Benefits like lower blood pressure, less lonliness, less risk
of getting a cold and stronger immunity.

Now for the downside: Increased Chances For A Fall!
That's right- according to new research, of the more than 90,000

falls treated last yr. about 3/4 of them involved a pet.
Your Mom gets up in the middle of night and doesn't see her cat,
Dad runs in from outside to take a call, and his dog runs with him
thinking it's play time and voila- he falls.
And one of the biggest hazards: A sleeping Pet!
Since they're silent and motionless, Mom, Dad,
or Auntie may not see them underfoot.

So, what do you do to help lower these numbers? A few things like...
a) Set up a pet bed away from high-traffic areas.
b) Place a bell around his or her neck (the pet's) to let your elderly
family member know where they are at all times.
c) Or send your dog to obedience school and train him or her
to walk alongside (and not under) their owner.
And sorry-this won't work on cats. (the obedience tip).

Tyra Bank's Favorite Moisturizer For Your Pooch!

                          Healing With Petroleum Jelly!
If you read our post about Tyra Banks' favorite way to keep her
skin youthful, then you know it's Petroleum Jelly!
(Read it at RedCarpetRxs.blogspot.com)

Well now, America's oldest and cheapest moisturizer can help your
pooch, how? By healing his or her damaged paws that take a beating
in the Winter and Summer.
Cracked paws due to overuse can be quite painful, but thanks to
vaseline-he or she may not have to suffer any longer.

For quick relief, apply a small amount to each paw, then use your
fingertips to gently massage the vaseline into the pads.
Thanks to the mineral oil and paraffin in the vaseline, your pooch's
paws will be lubricated and start healing from all of the walking and
running that they do.

Repeat once a week to keep their paws well moisturized.
Another tip: After applying the vaseline, I'd confine him or her
to their "special area" so they won't get vaseline all over the rest
of the house.

mindless snacking and to lose weight as well.

That's right- that bland tasting snack favorite can help Fido or
Fifi,
just like it helps women.
Dogs love the crunch and the flavor, plus it's available right

you'll just make losing weight even more difficult.

Curing An Upset Stomach!

                       Curing Doggy's Stomach Woes!
If your beloved pooch has ever had stomach problems, then you know
all about the heartache... What is It? Is it something more serious?

How much will the vet bill be? Why does he or she have diarrhea?
On and On.

But wait, there's something out there that may bring blessed relief
and it won't cost you a small fortune.

That something: Potatoes!
That's right- the low cost tuber may work better than a lot of
drugs your vet might prescribe.
Why potatoes?
They contain stool-solidifying starches.

So, head to the pantry and get a potato,  a large one and boil it,
until slightly soft , (leave it plain and cut it up)
and give your dog a small amount. Give larger dogs
a serving of potaotes- 3 to 4 times a day,
and smaller dogs should get about 2 to 3 servings per day.
You may want to check with your Vet on the exact amount.

And when you see that your dog is healthy again,
give him or her, their regular food.
